Leslee Alexander formed event-pros in 1991 after realizing the need for polished, professional talent in the trade show industry.
At the time, Leslee was working as a career flight attendant and performing modeling jobs on the side. When one of these modeling agencies contacted her to work at a computer trade show, Leslee immediately said "yes!" without really understanding her impending assignment. With no experience in the hi-tech industry, she wondered why a computer company would contact a modeling firm for staffing needs.
After much research, she realized the only resources corporate clients had for event staffing were either modeling agencies or temporary employment companies. Neither of these options provided the level of professionalism and sophistication that was sorely needed for these trade shows. Realizing this, Leslee formed event-pros and put her focus on recruiting individuals who were professional, highly motivated, energetic and outgoing. She supplied corporate clients with a solution to their event needs and the good news traveled fast!
Leslee received bookings immediately and knew she had found a niche in the industry. The biggest challenge she faced at this time was the lack of administrative support to assist with the large number of orders she received. So she did what most people do when they need help - she called her mother. Fortunately, her mother Glenda was a savvy and experienced businesswoman and was excited to become her business partner. Glenda's years as an executive in the banking industry were quickly put to good use. Together, this dynamic duo grew the company into the premier trade show staffing agency it is today.
Even though Glenda has "officially" retired, she and Leslee continue to strategize to stay one step ahead of the competition. In addition, Leslee has surrounded herself with a remarkable team of professionals at the corporate headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. event-pros currently has offices throughout the country with Regional Directors in most major convention cities as well as a pool of more than 2,000 associates worldwide.
It is easy to see why, after all of these years, Leslee and the entire event-pros team feel the fun has only just begun!
